Baby Swimming Lessons
Have you always wanted to give your baby a head start in development over others? Do you want to start them on a baby swimming course, but not sure how to go about doing it? Are you worried about the suitability and expertise of the coaches?
At MyFitnessComrade, we have the most professional baby swimming coaches. They differ from the standard swimming coaches, as their primary focus is on the development of the cognitive function of the baby. Physical skills are not as important at this stage in their lives. Instead, this is when focus should be placed on developing their social skills, as well as their confidence level, amongst other cognitive functions.
Our coaches have plenty of experiences working with infants. In fact, we have a specialised program, split into three phases. Firstly, for infants aged 6-12 months old. Secondly, for infants aged 13-24 months old. And lastly, for infants aged 25-36 months old. All our coaches come at highly affordable rates. In fact, we are sure you cannot find a cheaper baby swimming coach anywhere else in Singapore. So if you are keen to start your baby on a fun learning journey that can put them ahead in life, why not start with us?

Testimonials
“Thank you MyFitnessComrade for the informative lessons, good training materials provided. My baby enjoyed the swimming lessons gradually even though they started initially with a lot of tantrums and crying.”
“Very good and interactive! I understood better overall on how to teach and how to make them behave better in water. Enjoyed thoroughly. It helped me know my baby better throughout the whole swimming process. The instructor was really helpful and willing to share me a lot of tips and making sure the babies are safe in water practices. Great course! Glad I attended.”
Cognitive DevElopmenT
Many of the most important cognitive developments happen when we are a baby. By engaging in activities, the networks of neurons send messages across the brain, crossing paths often. This leads to the eventual development of strong neural patterns and associations, especially inside the corpus collosum area in the brain.
Swimming as such, is one great way to aid in the healthy cognitive developments in your baby. Since it requires the coordination of both hand and leg movements , it encourages communication to happen from one side of the brain to other. As your baby continue with swimming activities every week, it eventually strengthen these neural networks.
Research has in fact shown that swimming is a highly beneficiary activity for young infants. It has the effect of not just increasing their spatial awareness, but also aid in language development.

Social BondING
Aside from the cognitive benefits, swimming also encourages pro-social behaviours. Since these infants are placed in an environment with people they have never seen before, it allows them an opportunity to interact with others. Of course, all this is done with the guidance of both the instructor and the parents.
In fact, one of the other benefits of having the parent accompany their infants through these sessions, is that it helps improve parent-child bond. It allows parents like yourselves a chance to actively participate in an activity with your child. This quality time spent together eventually will go a long way in strengthening your familial bonds.
At MyFitnessComrade, we highly encourage parents to present with their infants through the entire lesson.

Safe PLace To Grow
Many parents might have safety concerns at the back of their head.
“If my infant does not know how to walk properly, can he/she really play in the pool in a safe manner?”
The answer is a resounding yes. It may be easy to forget, but these babies have spent 9 months in their mothers’ womb. They are in fact, very familiar with a water environment. Being in a pool of water is therefore well within their element. The next step therefore, is to teach these babies how to swim, and to make them comfortable in the external water environment. Rest assured, there are no reasons to worry about their safety in the pool. Besides, every single one of our coaches are highly professional, and have already worked with hundreds of infants previously.

How we help
More than being equipped with the qualifications, our swimming coaches have also a wealth of experiences working with infants. After all, the nature of a swimming lesson for an infant and a young child is fundamentally different. The most important thing is not so much to develop their physical skills, but rather their cognitive and mental well-being. Our coaches are highly nurturing and meticulous, helping build a safe and fun environment for infants to play around in the pool.
- Excellent way to physical, social & emotional development
- Improve heart and lung function
- Precious bonding session with parents
- Better oral expression, literacy, numeracy & mathematical reasoning
PHASE I (6 – 12 Months Old)
(We recommend for you to only enrol your infant into a swimming class once they have reached 6-months old.)
In the first part of these lessons, the focus will be on introducing them to an external body of water in a calm and safe manner. Water toys will be used to help infants feel more comfortable,, whilst our coaches may also be singing songs to help them relax.
Once they have attained a level of comfort with the water, the second part of the lessons will be focused on developing a sense of rhythm in the water. We will work on their water movements and muscle coordination.
At the end of this phase, your infant should have a greater sense of spatial awareness, as well as comfort level with aquatic environments. Their sensory foundation will also likely be more developed, as are their social skills.
Phase II (13 – 24 Months Old)
During this phase, your infants will be exposed to greater activities around the pool. They will be engaged in little pool games, and are encouraged to move around the wate more actively. This serves to develop an understanding for the concept of games in them. It heighten their sense of curiosity.
At the same time, more varied water movements will be introduced. They will be slowly guided onto a path of self-discovery. This freedom to explore meanwhile, has the added benefits of enhancing their respect for rules and safe behaviours in the pool.
At the end of this phase, your infant would have developed an intermediate level of motor skills, as well as a greater awareness of their surroundings. They are also now further equipped with problem-solving skills, as well as a greater sense of self-discovery.
Phase III ( 25 – 36 Months Old)
At this point, your infant would have now developed a greater sense of self. They now possess greater control over their psychomotor functions. As such, it is during this phase that more focus will be placed on the development of physical skills.
Circuit based programs will prompt your infant to solve interactive puzzles, whilst moving around the pool. This requires lots of neural coordination, and leads to the pronounced and highly-developed patterns in the brain.
By slowly ramping up the difficulty of the circuit, your infant will also be gradually exposed to more synchronised hand-leg movements.
By the end of this phase, your infant would have a highly developed set of psychomotor skills. Their confidence level, as well as emotional development, would also be a lot higher than most infants their age

Our Promise
Our number one priority when it comes to baby swimming lessons, is to ensure the infant’s well-being. Any baby that shows any signs of great discomfort with the water, we will immediately recommend parents to withdraw their children. After all, we know the importance of early childhood development. Any traumatic experience this early in life can leave a permanent mental scar.
Yet, similarly, good and healthy experiences when they are young can go a long way in the development of a well-functioning individual. That’s why we focus so much on building the intangibles during these lessons,. Our priority is in developing cognitive functions such as their communication skills, as well as their confidence level.
At MyFitnessComrade, our swimming coaches are determined to provide the best environment for your infants to have fun in.
That’s our promise.
