Testimonials

“Sometimes its not enough to know what is the right way to do certain things (like strokes footwork etc) but it is also important to know what mistakes you are doing (using bad combination of equipment, not relaxing between points). After a point of time your skills plateau and when you need to get to the next level you need someone like Thomas’ guidance… I have benefited tremendously from his advice and it has started to show in my game. Thank you.

“Eli is one of the most passionate people I know. The commitment and dedication he has to table tennis make success knock on the door. He is one of the best coaches I Know thanks to his fantastic communication with all people, both players, and other coaches. He has strong knowledge about table tennis and whoever accompanies him daily knows what I am talking about. You are a fantastic friend! Stay like this forever!”

“Eli recently started coaching my 9-year-old daughter and after just one session, I realised very quickly that this guy is an incredible coach and a complete expert in his field. He was able to identify the areas which my daughter needs to work on in no time at all and has provided me with a detailed plan on exactly what we need to focus on in order to improve her technique. Attention to detail His attention to detail is remarkable, he is super passionate, very friendly and a complete professional. I felt that the coaching he has provided to date has been pitched at just the right level for a nine-year-old who has only been playing for around 6 months and my daughter is really looking forward to future sessions with Eli. In all sports, there are coaches and then there are coaches and this guy is at the very top end of the spectrum, 5-star. Highly recommended”

Skills and Reflexes

Table tennis is the ultimate sports that challenges not just your skill level, but your reflexes as well. Whilst all ball sports naturally involve reacting to real-time situations, none does so in as fast a speed as table tennis does. Split second decisions have to be made during every rally. Subsequently ,it is this very challenge that makes table tennis as popular a sports as it is.

Many of us might not have had the opportunity to learn table tennis. After all, unlike basketball players, there are no readily available courts that can be visited at our own free time. And unlike football, this sports is not the easiest to learn, and hence sparring partners are hard to come by.

Lesson PLan Part I

However, if you have visited this page, it means either you or your child is interested in starting their table tennis journey. At MyFitnessComrade, we have curated a 10-week lesson plan that help beginners pick up table tennis in the shortest time possible. Not only that, but at the end of each lesson, you can rest assured that you will come out a better table tennis player than you were a couple hours before.

During the first few lessons, the very fundamental of table tennis are taught. This includes the different ways to hold the paddle, how to feel the bounce of the ball, as well as all the rules that govern this game.

Lesson Plan Part II

Following that, your coach will teach you how to do a forehand attack and a backhand defence. Correct position and angling of your arms will be crucial in your execution of these movies. As such, the right techniques used are of great importance, which is what our coaches are here for. Not only will they teach you, but they will also monitor you closely and correct any lingering errors. In this way, you will not carry bad errors forward, which will ultimately free up your overall game and increase your potential.

Rounding off the last few classes will be lessons on the basic footwork, as well as the different techniques used to service the ball. The last lesson will be an evaluation session. Majority of this time will be spent sparring with your coach. He/She will once again correct any errors that you might have at this point, and provide you with helpful pointers that will take your game to the next level.

How we help

At MyFitnessComrade, our table tennis coaches do not just have the professional qualifications, they also have the required mental abilities to help you grow as a tennis player. A good player does not necessarily translate into a good coach. On top of having the required skill level, good coaches are nurturing and encouraging individuals, who knows when to be firm and when to be more relaxed. They also have to be friendly and approachable, so that students will not hesitate to approach them for help.

We make sure that all our coaches possess these qualities and more. That is why our lessons are designed not just to help you improve, but also to be fun, engaging, and ultimately, highly rewarding.

Specialised Learning

There are many ways you can find a table tennis coach. The most common one is simply signing up for a group lesson that is most suitable for your skill level. Indeed, many of our coaches have previously taught such classes. However, they have quickly come to realise even after the classification of level, that it is still an inefficient learning method. Individuals in the same class still have learning paces. That’s why many of them decided to join MyFitnessComrade.

At MFC, coaches have a greater responsibility for the learning curve of each client. They tailor programs to adjust to individual needs. The way everyone learn is different. At MyFitnessComrade, we believe that the most efficient method to teach someone, is to cater to their individual preferences. That’s why our coaches pride themselves in providing you with personalised coaching sessions.

Flexible Lesson Locations

Unlike other coaches, we do not have fixed training locations. Instead, we allow you, the client, to determine where the training location will be. It could be the table tennis court located at the community club nearest to your house. If you are living in a condo, it could even be the table tennis court within your premises. Our coaches would most willingly make their way down to your place. That is the flexibility we offer, when you sign up with the coaches here at MyFitnessComrade.

All you simply have to do is just tell us your preferences. You can do this by calling us, texting us, or filling in the form below, We have many coaches. This ultimately allows us to match you to the most suitable coach. Many clients have signed up with us precisely because of the flexibiliy we offer. They found other training locations are to be too far, and would prefer to have a place which is the most convenient for them.

Enrolling Your Kids

Many parents are now seeing the benefits of starting their children on extra-curricular activities at an early age. They expose them to different sports, such as football, basketball swimming, and even tennis. These days, table tennis has slowly climbed the ranks of popularity, and has similarly emerged as one of the ideal sports for parents to enrol their children into.

More than just sports skills, table tennis teaches young kids many valuable lessons. Amongst them is the value of self-discipline. Proficiency at table tennis ultimately comes down to the number of hours one dedicate to the sports. Therefore, if your kid has a natural talent for table tennis, it is important to encourage them to develop this talent through hard work and consistency. If they can do this at a young age, it sets them up well for later in life.

PHASE I (6 – 12 Months Old)

(We recommend for you to only enrol your infant into a swimming class once they have reached 6-months old.)

In the first part of these lessons, the focus will be on introducing them to an external body of water in a calm and safe manner. Water toys will be used to help infants feel more comfortable,, whilst our coaches may also be singing songs to help them relax.

Once they have attained a level of comfort with the water, the second part of the lessons will be focused on developing a sense of rhythm in the water. We will work on their water movements and muscle coordination.

At the end of this phase, your infant should have a greater sense of spatial awareness, as well as comfort level with aquatic environments. Their sensory foundation will also likely be more developed, as are their social skills.
